One last testimony.....

Well, since this is my last time to send an email I thought I would send my testimony of the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ:
I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that He loves me and I love Him. I know that He is the Only Begotten Son of Heavenly Father. I know that He lives! I know that this is His work. I know that He cares about each and every person and that He wants everyone to come unto Him. I know that the Lord has hastened His work. I know there is a lot more work to be done. I know that just as much as the Lord’s work has quickened, so has Satan. I know that even though Satan is trying to win that HE NEVER WILL OR CAN WIN!
I know that He gives us families to be in to learn how to love and laugh and grow. I know that the family is ordained of God. I know that marriage is between a man and woman and that as we are obedient to the things that Heavenly Father asks us to do, we will have happy, successful families.
I know that Heavenly Father loves us so much that He gave us Prophets that would record their teachings and is now the Old testament. I know that the Old testament is from Heavenly Father has a tool to bring us closer to him. I know that the New Testament is a record of Jesus Christ and His life. I know that it is necessary for us to understand so that we can better understand our Savior. I know that the Holy Bible is the word of God and can bring us greater understand of the Lord and His work. I also know that Heavenly Father has and always will work Prophets. I know that there is a living Prophet on the Earth today and His name is President Thomas Spencer Monson. I know that he receives revelation from Heavenly Father that is used to guide and direct us in these Latter-days. I know that we need a Prophet here now more than ever.
I know that Jesus Christ had established His church on the Earth with twelve apostles and quorum of seventies and many other things that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has today. I know that Jesus Christ established his church with the Priesthood is the authority or permission to act in God’s name. I know that Jesus Christ walked all the way to Galiee so that he could be baptized by John the Baptist who had the proper authority from God.
I know that Jesus Christ died for me. I know that He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for my sins, transgressions, trespass, and every dishonorable thing that I have and will do. I know that He died on the cross so that I do not have to be the person that I am today. I know that He lives! He rose from the dead three days later and because of Him, I will live again! I know that because of the Atonement, which is these three events, I can change. I do not have to be held back because of my past. I know that Jesus Christ didn’t just preform the Atonement so that I will be saved from hell but that I can become like Him. I know that the Atonement is everything and ALWAYS makes up the difference. I know that because of Jesus Christ everything will be made right in the end. I know that when I do everything I can I will endowed with not only power from on high but with His grace. I know that Jesus Christ was the ONLY man on Earth that could have preformed the Atonement and that he could have FAILED! I know that He didn’t fail because of His love for each of us. I know that the Atonement is the ultimate expression of charity.
I know that after Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection that the apostles did His work just like we are now. I know that His Church did not last because all of the apsotles who held the Priesthood keys were killed. Because they were killed no one could use the priesthood anymore and then began the Great Apostasy. I know that during this time many churches began but none were His church. I know that there were many good men who tried to keep Him church a live but it was not possible. I know that because of this apostasy we needed a restoration of Jesus Christ church.
I know that because of the Great Apostasy we needed Joseph Smith Jr. We needed someone to restore Jesus Christ’s church. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. I know that he was chosen by God to bring the Church and the fullness of the gospel back to His people. I know that Joseph Smith was foreordained and prepared to the prophet of the restoration. I know that he was a humble young man and wanted to do his Father’s will. I know that Joseph Smith prayed and asked God which church to join. I know that Satan tried to stop the restoration and still is trying to stop the work from progressing. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and that single event has changed my life FOREVER!
I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that it is written by ancient prophets who lived in the Americas. I know that it is another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is because of the Book of Mormon that I know that Jesus Christ is my Savoir, that Joseph Smith is a true prophet, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint is the Lord’s church and kingdom once again on the earth! I know that the Book of Mormon will bring a man closer to God than any other book. I know that the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the everlasting gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. I know that this book tells us what we HAVE to do to become like God and to have peace and happiness in this life. I know that the Book of Mormon teaches us everything we need to know. I know that it can change our lives because it has changed mine. I love the Book of Mormon with all of my heart. I know that it has power from God in it. I know that if we CLING to the Book of Mormon we will ALWAYS succeed.
I know that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and Holy Ghost are three separate beings. I know that the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ both have bodies of flesh and bones. I know that Holy Ghost testifies of truth. I know that because of the Holy Ghost I am still here today. I know that it will protect us and that it will change us if we let it.
I know so many more things about this gospel. All of this is just what I tesify when I first meet people. I have such a strong testimony of all of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I wish I had time to keep writing but I don’t.
I have loved my mission and I am so grateful for the chance that I have had to serve the Lord. He is so AWESOME! I love the gospel!
I am excited to see you all soon! I love you!

Great WEEK

This has been a CRAZY week. But so great.

Monday: We had a ton of snow but I got some great experience driving in it. :)

Tuesday: I had an exchange with Sister Corbridge. We had a great time here in Hebron. We came out together and it has been so much to be around her. She is an AMAZING missionary. I have learned so much from her.

Wednesday: We were still tromping through the snow to get to people's house.... They just need to shovel their driveways.... actually we just need to buy shovels so we can do it for them, great service idea right? :)

Thursday: we had a great lessons with our investigators. I am teaching the most wonderful people. I just love them.

Friday: We found a family that we are going to see tonight :)

Saturday: NUTS! It snowed SOOO much!! SO MUCH! I think they said we got 8 inches.... man. But we were not going to push our baptism back. So our investigator was baptized. Many people had to get pushed out of the snow but it happened!
Sister Syndergaard and I probably pushed like 7 cars out of the snow because they were stuck and we had to get ours several times.
it was also suppose to be our social media split... yeah.... that didn't happen... haha. At least for us. All of our plans kinda dropped out. Oh well. Next time for sure!

Sunday: Barbara is officially the newest member of the Hebron ward! So awesome! :)

Even though there was a TON of snow this week, we did it! We survived. I didn't kill us! :)

Happy Valentines Day!!

Another great week! I guess every week in the mission is great though. I just love being a missionary. This week we saw many miracles and blessings.

Tuesday: We had exchanges with the Cincinnati Sisters. They both came to Hebron and worked with for the day. It was so great to be with them. I love them so much!

Wednesday: We had to do some training at District meeting on the Doctrine of Christ. The Doctrine of Christ is so AMAZING! It is everything! It is how we do anything. I wish I could jsut tell you everything I know but that would take me a lot longer than the time I have.

Thursday: We had to go out to Lawrenceburg, Indianna to do the same training for a different District.

Friday: We had to go back out to Lawrenceburg to move the Sister's into another apartment.

Saturday: Valentine's day we had a fondue night with some member's of our ward for dinner. It was super fun! I also got a GREAT package from mom and abby! SO funny!

Sunday: Another great day at church! I felt the Spirit so strong! It was just a great day.

Today: SNOW! So much snow! haha. It just keeps coming. :)

Excited for this week! We have baptism coming up this Saturday! Also a social media split. look up the hastags #mormon and #socialmediasplit hopefully you will see some pics on Saturday! :)

Crazy it is what we do!

Man, oh man. I wish I knew where to even start. I think I might just walk you through this week.

Monday: After P-day, all of our appointments fell through... Great... haha.

Tuesday: We had an AMAZING zone conference! My last one. I learned so much from President Porter. I am so grateful for him. He teaches us so much and I always want to improve after I leave a meeting with him. After zone conference, we have an exchange with some of our Sisters. I was with SIster Alley. She has been out for like 3 weeks I think. It is crazy to see her just starting this AMAZING journey  while I am ending it. I think that is why Heavenly Father placed us here together and I get to work so closely with her. she is awesome and she is going to do so many amazing things.

Wednesday: We finished the exchange and we had so many miracles. We talked to 2 families that we had never been able to because they were never interested but they were that day! And it finally snowed like an inch that night.

Thursday: We had a grace member present lesson. Our investigator texted us and told not to  come by because she was tired but we didn't get it and went over and she let us in. :)

Friday: Busy planning day.

Saturday: We found 2 new investigators. They were kids of our investigator and they want to learn about Family History. So cool. Family History is such a cool tool. I love family history!

Sunday: Another grace filled day! We found 2 more investigators, one of which was at 8:45 at night. It was crazy awesome!

This was just an amazing week. Heavenly Father really came through for us. I know we can see miracles every day if we involve Heavenly Father DAILY! Call down His grace. Ask for His help. He wants to help us, I know He will.
I love you all! Have an amazing week!

FINAL countdown

Well, this has been another good week. We had Misison Leadership Council which was AWESOME as always. I am just so grateful for President and Sister Porter and how inspired they are.
But the miracle of this week. It was a blessing. So, so far this transfer SIster Syndergaard and I have been having a hard time finding. We are doing everything it takes to find but nothing seems to be working. :/ So it came down to Sunday and we needed 4 lessons and 3 new investigators.
I am not gonna lie, I was pretty frustrated. I felt like nothing was working or happening. I was done. But of course, my awesome companion got me to keep trying so I did. Between 5 and 6pm on Sunday we found 3 new investigators and had taught 4 lessons. It was COMPLETE 100% grace of God. Not only did that happen but 1 of these investigators seems really excited. They are coming to church this week and just want to know more. It was crazy. The grace of God is real! I know that is comes after all that we can do!

I hope you all have a great week!
Love ya!

WOW

This has been a week to remember! Probably the craziest week of my entire life!

To start off, My new companion is Sister Syndergaard. Syn-der-gaard. haha. not snydergaard. :) She is just so wonderful. She is an INCREDIBLE missionary. She is such a hard worker and we just laugh all the time. I love her to pieces already!

So this week has been nuts. We can not have a normal day for the life of us! It is crazy! We just go about the work like normal and just crazy random things happen! haha. :) Like we gave a pass-along card to a cop, we stopped a bunch of teenage boys playing football and we invited them all to be baptized, and we have had several awkward run ins with members. It has just been crazy fun.

But the thing that is getting us through this week is the Book of Mormon. We are a little of obsessed with the Book of Mormon. We found the Book of Mormon on CD in our car so we have been listening to it. We have been telling everyone about the Book of Mormon. We have been sharing only Book of Mormon scriptures with people. It is kind of crazy. But awesome. The power of the Book of Mormon is so real. Every time we listen to it we see miracles. We won't get out of the car with out listening to it! I love the Book of Mormon. I know it gives us to the power to do all things!

Read the Book of Mormon! Read every chance you get and I PROMISE that if you do, it will make you happier. That is a 100% guarantee!

love ya'll! Have a great week!

p.s. Happy Birthday Mom and Dad!

GREAT week bye to the Trio

Well, This was a GREAT week. This was my last week of being in a trio. I am sad to see Sister Chapa and Sister Larsen go but we did have a ton of fun! They will be missed soooo much! I am excited to see what my last 6 weeks has in store for me! I cannot wait!
So this weekend was awesome, we were able to see an 8 year we taught be baptized. Her mom was baptized back in August and asked us to teach her. She was baptized with her 9 year cousin and aunt who the Elders taught. The baptism was so beautiful. The spirit was so strong and so many people came. The support of this ward is amazing and so many people looking into the church came.
I am so grateful to be a missionary. I know that this is the Lord's church on the earth. I am so grateful for the Spirit that testifies these things to me. I love the Lord and will serve Him the very best I can.
Love,
Sister Shaw

A McDonalds Miracle

Well, this has been a crazy busy week. So many people to see and so little time.
We had interviews with our mission president on Wednesday which was great as always. That was my last interview with him until I go home!! CRAZY! The time is flying by soooo fast! I love being a missionary and I don't want it to ever stop.
But I want to tell you about a miracle that happened this week. So on Friday we went to a lesson that we were having at McDonalds. So we sat a table and this guy sat not to far away. About 5-10 minutes into the lesson I saw the guy looking at us and I got the strongest impression to go talk to him. So I got a Mormon.org card from my companion Sister Larsen and walked over to him while my companions and the member we were with talked to our investigator. I talked to this guy for probably about 15 minutes and he is just so ready for the gospel. It was so amazing to have Heavenly Father choose to work through me. I am so blessed and he loves me so much.
Heavenly Father will work through you if you let him. It is just as prideful to think that He can't then to think that we don't need Him.
I know this Church is true. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the power to change.

Surprise!

Well, this has been a very eventful week! :)

So to start off, There was an emergency transfer this week! hah. Crazy right? So what happened was that Sister Brown and I got moved from Lakeside Park. Everything is fine and ok, so don't worry. Sister Brown is not my companion anymore and she is in the Western Hills ward. She is actually working in the Mission Office. A super cool job, I am little jealous :)

Me on the other hand... I was sent to Hebron with Sister Chapa and Sister Larsen. So you guys probably don't remember Sister Chapa, but she was my Companion in the MTC for the first 3 days until we had to get emergency transferred in the MTC as well haha. So Sister Chapa and I are just finishing out the time we didn't get to have in the MTC. :) Sister Larsen actually goes home at the end of the transfer which is crazy.

And there is one last fun fact....
I am a Sister Training Leader now. That is the position that Briar had on her mission if you aren't familiar. It is fun. We have 2 other sets of sisters in our zone that we have stewardship over and they are just great. Actually, just last transfer one of them was my Sister Training Leader. So if you saw pictures from mission Leadership council on FB, that is why I was there. :)

So yeah. This is the fun and exciting news of the week!

my new address is:
2260 Flicker Dr. # 195
Hebron, KY 41048
But remember, transfers are in 2 weeks! :)

Have a great week!

Love ya!
